Infant Care

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that children have their first dental visit within six months of their first tooth coming out, or by their first birthday, whichever comes first.

Initial exam

Your baby’s first dental exam will be performed in a specialized “baby room” designed to be soothing and comfortable for babies and parents alike! Dr. Peiravani will perform a gentle, comprehensive, dental examination which will include evaluation of any baby teeth as well as tongue ties and jaw development.

Family-centered approach

Dr. Peiravani takes a collaborative and holistic approach to parental education, with an emphasis on early prevention. Every visit includes one-on-one time with Dr. Peiravani to answer your questions. Dr. Peiravani’s approach is family-focused, taking your family’s lifestyle into account when giving recommendations. From feeding to toothpaste and toothbrush selection, Dr. Peiravani has your back and will empower you to care for your child’s oral health at home.

Benefits of infant check ups

Regular dental check ups in the first few years of life help parents feel more confident in caring for their child’s dental health at home, allow children the opportunity to get used to the pediatric dental environment, and allow for early recognition of potential problems. At your child first visit, Dr. Peiravani checks for proper tooth eruption, oral habits like thumb sucking, jaw development, and signs of tongue or lip ties, providing guidance tailored to your baby’s needs.
